Keele University was the first brand-new institution to be founded in the United Kingdom at the turn of the 20th century. Almost 70% of Keele University's undergraduates choose the Dual Honours degree today, making it the institution that initially offered it.

The University's 10,000 undergraduate students come from about 120 different countries, and almost all of them are able to study abroad for a semester at one of its 80 partner universities.

Keele almost always ranks in the top three universities for student happiness. The 600-acre campus of Keele University is made up of parkland, lakes, and woods. The primary draw on the property is Keele Hall, a Grade II listed structure from the eighteenth century.

History

In 1949, Staffordshire, England's Keele University was established. Keele is halfway between Birmingham and Manchester, only a few miles from the urban areas of Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent, and 20 miles from the Peak District, a magnificent national park renowned for its natural beauty. It is regarded as the biggest campus in the nation and features a few notable structures and a science park.

In the National Student Survey, Keele consistently ranks among the top ten universities in the UK, and its student union is among the top five in the country for a variety of offered activities. The Daily Telegraph named Keele University's campus as the sixth most attractive in the UK. Keele has a high ranking in the Times Higher Education Global University Rankings.

Keele provides an inviting environment for overseas students. Many cultural events are planned and celebrated throughout the year. In addition to two sports halls that meet national standards, the university also runs a climbing wall, a single-court gym, a wellness centre, and a dance studio. It is also the first university in the nation to keep all of the "Kinesis" gym's amenities.

The institution has a graduation rate of above 90%. To promote its initiatives outside of the realm of traditional academia, the institution established a fellowship college in 2011. It is currently run by graduates from Staffordshire's business, media, and key stakeholder schools. The university has a large and diverse alumni base of people who run renowned and reputable organizations.

The National Student Survey consistently places Keele among the top ten institutions in the United Kingdom, and its student union was just named one of the top five in the nation for the breadth of its extracurricular opportunities. The Keele University campus is so beautiful that it was ranked sixth by The Daily Telegraph. Keele was ranked in highly distinguished company in the most recent Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

80% of Keele's research was rated as either world-leading or internationally good according to the conclusions of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, an increase of 75% from the last REF in 2014.

University of Keele Scholarships

For both foreign and EU students, Keele University provides a variety of scholarships that are specific to certain nations, fields of study, and areas of specialisation. Some scholarships will need an individual application from each applicant, while others might be given out automatically.

Worldwide Scholarships 2021

Keele University has announced some new scholarship options for self-funded students. It's noteworthy to note that students do not need to submit separate applications for these Keele grants. These tuition cost reductions are automatically available to students who meet the eligibility requirements.

Student Support

The Meet and Greet service for new students at the beginning of the year is organised by Keele University's specialised International Student Support Team. Many initiatives exist to introduce international students to one another and teach them about other cultures. Prior to Welcome Week, there is also an international orientation designed to assist students in adjusting to life abroad. In addition to the general studies, overseas students have the option of enrolling in a foundation year that includes English language instruction or pre-sessional English classes that can run up to 12 weeks before the start of the term.

All students have access to a wellbeing support service at Keele University, which works to make sure you spend your time there feeling secure and happy.

Student Life

The campus of Keele University is about ten minutes from Newcastle-under-Lyme and a few miles from Stoke-on-Trent, a prosperous and reasonably priced town. Both towns have a variety of activities, food options, and retail establishments. Together with a range of cafés, restaurants, pubs, and clubs in Stoke-on-Trent and the neighbouring town of Newcastle, there is a thriving student community in the area around the school.

Trentham features picturesque gardens and upscale stores, while Alton Towers, the largest amusement park in the UK, is only 45 minutes away. Only 20 miles from Keele, the stunning Peak District National Park offers students the chance to engage in outdoor activities and hobbies. Stoke-on-Trent offers a wide variety of recreation and culture, including Premier League football, pottery museums, and art galleries.

Living Accommodation

International undergraduate students who apply by the deadline will be provided with on-campus housing. Almost 2,800 students have access to a range of housing options on campus, including traditional, en suite, and flats, to meet a variety of budgets. There are regular and en suite rooms available, as well as catered choices.

A Keele staff located on campus manages the housing. Furthermore offered are laundry facilities, social gathering places, and activities.

The Keele housing team may help students with off-campus accommodations as well.

Transport

On-campus housing is situated a 10-minute walk from the Keele University campus centre. All teaching is on campus
There is frequent bus service to Newcastle-under-Lyme and Hanley, which are the main shopping centres, passing through the campus.
Nearby, the main Stoke-on-Trent train station can take less than 1 hour to Manchester and Birmingham, and 1.5 hours to London.
The central position of Keele means that it is near to the major airports in the area, including Manchester and Birmingham.

Location

Newcastle-under-Lyme is close to the Staffordshire campus of Keele University. Located in the centre of the nation, it is just over an hour from Manchester and Birmingham and less than two hours from London. A collection of English cities and towns with a long history of ceramic production going back to the Industrial Revolution are collectively referred to as The Potteries.
